Jacobite Activity Day

Primary 5-7 had a day in the woods, living a-day-in-the-life of a Jacobite.  The class walked from the school, through the woods, crossed the river and set up camp.  They were able to light fires, collect, cut and chop firewood using saws and axes then cook a meaty stew with bannock breads over the fire which they ate for lunch.  In groups they also used knives to carve ether a sharp stick, butter knife or porridge stirrer.

The class learnt a lot about living and surviving in the wild as the Jacobites would have done on their long journeys.
